Glenwood Spring's Community Center is a really fun place to be. You either work out, go swimming, ice skate, or even go climbing. I only spent one day volunteering their, but it sure was nice. I would make sure everything was clean for example the lady's restrooms, the lobby, and the work out equipment. I also had to go outside and pick up all the trash that was around. During the time i went to go volunteer the weather was still cold, so it wasn't really that much fun going outside and walking around. Other then that i met some nice lady's who work their, one of them has been working with the Community Center for around 8 years now. I thought that was really interesting because she's a janitor and if i was her, i probably wouldn't even last a full year. Being able to volunteer at the Rec Center was a really nice experience and i am glad i got to spend some hours their. :)
Going to Glenwood Springs's Community Treasures was a really nice experience. Me and a friend both went to help them out for 5 days for at least 2 hours. We would both fix racks full of clothes, organize all the antiques, and empty out all new boxes. There was this one time where we had to put coat hangers on a lot of clothes, and we did that for almost 3 hours straight! It feels really nice being able to help others in their job. It makes me feel really happy inside, especially knowing that i'm not getting paid for it. Or else i would've felt a different way. While being there i noticed that a lot of people actually donate clothes, toys, movies, antiques, blankets, and so much more. Noticing this made me want to donate as well. I love helping people out, and if i ever get another opportunity like this i sure will take it.
